
Kelly Clarkson, in full Kelly Brianne Clarkson, (born on April 24, 1982 in Fort Worth, Texas, U.S.), American singer, songwriter, and TV personality who emerged as a pop rock star following her win in the TV talent contest American Idol in 2002. Clarkson was raised at Burleson Texas (a suburb of Fort Worth), where her talent for singing was first noticed by her seventh-grade singing teacher. Clarkson was able to leave high school and move in Los Angeles where she failed to succeed in the entertainment business. When she returned to Texas Clarkson was participant on the initial season of American Idol, a show broadcast by the Fox Broadcasting Company. American Idol, a singing competition where viewers could choose their favorite performer. Clarkson's charismatic voice, charisma and humor won over viewers. Clarkson was awarded $1 million and an agreement recording with RCA as her prize.
